Puerto Vallarta: Culture, beach, and amazing cuisine!

Puerto Vallarta the 'Jewel of the Mexican Riviera' is the perfect blend of laid back beach town and amazing culture. This amazing destination has been a favorite of American ex-pats for its short flights from the US, laid back beach life, and amazing restaurants for years!

Beaches

Puerto Vallarta is located in the Bay of Banderas. The golden sand beaches along the resorts are beautiful! And, the sunsets can be spectacular. If you are up for adventure, you can head out to some of the beaches only accessible via boat or hike!

Yelpa beach is a paradise accessible via boat. While you are enjoying your day, you can also hike to a waterfall and enjoy the culinary treats for which this area is famous.

Las Caletas is another beach only accessible via boat. Enjoy your day in the beach hammocks.

There are tons of beaches to explore, this is just a sampling of the many options available!

Culture

Puerto Vallarta offers culture accessible by simply walking the streets. Walking along the cobblestone streets offers you a beautiful tour of the architecture, sculptures and street mural art that adorns this beautiful city! Head to the cathedral "Our Lady of Gudalupe' to see the beautiful crown that overlooks the city.

Restaurants

Food! No matter if you are looking for hidden romantic spots or beachfront barefoot options, there are many options. Some of our favorites are Barracudas on the beach for the amazing sunsets, The Blue Shrimp in the Zona Romantica is one of our parents' favorites. Layla's is a hidden gem on a leafy street, with a fun balcony area. No matter if you are looking for upscale dining, or street tacos, you can enjoy all of it in PVR!

Still need more reason to go? Set out to enjoy Sayulita, one of Mexico's Magic Towns, with it's quaint downtown, and beach with inexpensive beach massages and surf lessons. Head up into the mountains for zip lines, and ATVs. Need a unique experience, head out to Hidden Beach, where you have to swim underwater to reach the beach.

No matter if you are looking for relaxation or adventure, PVR is must see in Mexico!
